Professional practice

Practising lawyer (2011) and solicitor of England and Wales (2014), with experience in shipping law, international trade, insurance, reinsurance, litigation and arbitration disputes at national and international level.

He is a professor of shipping law at the Instituto Marítimo and in the master’s programmes organised by the Barcelona Nautical School. He has been an Associate Professor of commercial law at the Carlos III University of Madrid.

Author of numerous publications related to shipping law and insurance and reinsurance law.

Jaime is a member of the CMI Working Group on Decarbonisation of the Maritime Sector and is part of the Executive Committee of Young CMI.

Education

Law degree from Carlos III University in Madrid (2011). Master’s Degree in Shipping law (LLM) from Swansea University (2013) with distinction and special award from the Institute of Shipping and Trade Law (IISTL).
