Professional practice

Practicing lawyer since 1979 with a specialised practice relating to shipping law and insurance and reinsurance law. Appointed arbitrator in maritime, commercial and insurance matters.

He is involved in institutions related to shipping law: president (2016-2022) and current member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Maritime Law Association; member of the Executive Committee (2019-2025) and full member of the International Maritime Committee; founding member of the Ibero-American Institute of Maritime Law; Member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Maritime Cluster, the Spanish Arbitration Club, and member of the IBA. Full member of the Royal Academy of the Sea. Corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation.

Advisor to the Spanish Delegation on the Legal Committee of the International Maritime Organisation.

Professor of Shipping law at the Spanish Maritime Institute. Author of numerous publications related to shipping law and insurance and reinsurance law.

Eduardo works in all areas of shipping law, including commercial disputes under charter policies, Bills of Lading and similar documents, as well as shipping accidents and insurance and reinsurance disputes involving major risks, including material damage, loss of profits and civil liability. He represents clients before the courts and arbitration tribunals.

Law degree from the University of Valencia (1977).

Sworn interpreter of English by appointment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Yacht captain.
